exemplars and markschemes
Below are several past
extended essays and their markschemes (not from OIS). It is very useful to
read as many of the exemplars as you can, even those outside your subject
area, to get a feel for the language and organization of EE research
writing. It is also useful to study the mark-schemes to get a good
understanding of how the EE is evaluated.
The EE scoring markbands are as follows:
E:
0 - 8 (elementary)
D:
9 - 16 (mediocre)
C:
17 - 24 (satisfactory)
B:
25 - 29 (good)
A:
30 - 36 (excellent)
