APAC Theatre 2007
THURSDAY: Morning 3 sessions…
A; Getting to know each other.
Outline of intention and expectation.
B: A showing of students prepared pieces.
C: Outline of Theatre Xstream... history and philosophy
….an approach to contemporary theatre making.
Discussion of performance material.
Approaches to auditioning, casting, rehearsal and
performance.
Afternoon and early evening…..
D: auditioning for principal speaking and singing roles.
Simultaneously begin exploration of performance material.
( 3 groups….alienation-war zone-celebrity)
Breaks to gain breath and discuss progress as needed.
Through course of afternoon allocate speaking and singing
roles.
NB: EVERYONE will have a speaking, singing and movement
role.
Roles will vary in size and scope.
EVERYONE will be in the acting space at all times during the
final performance.
THEATRE X is very much an ensemble piece.
NB: ALL PRINCIPAL ROLES TO BE LEARNED OVERNIGHT: this is a
strict obligation on acceptance of one of these roles.
FRIDAY:
E: Warm Up….questions and answers after a night of personal
reflection.
F: The day will be spent in rehearsal modifying and refining
performance material where necessary. Appropriate breaks
including lunch break at appropriate times.
G: Progress reports…how far have we come and how best to
proceed?
H: Some limited technical rehearsal…co-ordinating sound,
lighting and visual effects.
SATURDAY:
I: Morning: excursion away from school.
J: Afternoon: Integration of disparate elements into
performance format.
K: Technical and dress rehearsal.
BANQUET
L: 7-30pm performance(s) Depending on progress this may be
three separate or one integrated performance about
50mins-1hour in total duration. |
