Osaka International School High School Middle School Dorm Rules

Chapter 1　　General Rules

Article 1 These regulations will decide on what the dorm students should act according to.
Article 2 The school dorm's general regulations will be headed by the principal.
Article 3 The school dorm's regulations are set to help make a study environment for international students.
Article 4 The dorm students should obey the regulations and also manage themselves to help cooperate with the other dorm students.
Article 5 In order to keep the dorm in good condition, a dorm committee will be formed.
Article 6 the dorm committee will consist of the principal, vice-principal, head official, house master, and any other that the principal finds necessary.  In some cases the house mother will also be called upon to join the committee.
Article 7 the dorm committee will take in the following matters.
  1. The principle planning of the school dorm management
  2. Admission to the dorm
  3. The school dorm patrol
  4. Any other managements that need consideration.
Article 8 There will be a house master and a house mother placed in the dorm.  The house master will be a faculty member of the school, who can manage both the school and the dorm.  The house master will be chosen by the principal and he is to follow the orders given to him by the school dorm committee.  the house master's job is to look after the students and to take care of the dorm building.  The house mother is to be placed to assist the house master.
Article 9 The dorm students health will be looked upon by the school nurse.

Chapter 2　　Admission

Article 10

The admission will be allowed to students from the grade level of 9th to 12th.  The admission priority will be set to the following:

  1. Any student whose parents do not reside in the country

  2. Any student who the dorm committee judges the transportation to be difficult

  3. Any student that the dorm committee finds a need to live at the dorm
Article 11 Any person who request residency at the dorm, but do not satisfy Article 10 will be conversed by the school dorm committee.
Article 12 Any person requesting residency at the dorm must fill in the "dorm admission request form" and turn it into the school dorm committee, and take the admissions examination.  A student given permission for admission must hand in the "contract" or a "guarantor form" signed by the guardian and hand in to the school dorm committee within the due date.
Article 13 The time period that the students are allowed to stay in the dorm is until that school year has ended and any student requesting an extension to the occupancy in the dorm must fill out the "dorm residency continuance request form" and receive an approval from the school dorm committee.

Chapter 3　　Everyday Life

Article 14 The dorm students must treat the dorm property as their own and any objects damaged must be paid for by the students.
Article 15 Dorm students must keep clean and be safe, thus not giving problems to the other dorm residents.
Article 16 The house master and the house mother must keep the dorm rooms under inspection periodically.
Article 17 Dorm students must not do the following
  1. Letting a third person into a dorm room.
  2. Changing the dorm rooms or taking dorm property out of the building.
  3. Selling or betting must not be done in the dorm.
  4. Letting a non-dorm student into the dorm without permission and or letting that person lodge.
  5. Drinking, smoking, betting, and corruption of public morals, etc.
  6. No lending or borrowing of money between dorm students.
  7. Any other acts that will lower the standards of dorm students. 
Article 18 Dorm students must live a standard life without unhealthy acts.
2.  dorm students must be quiet after 8:00, and must think about others and keep in attention of the dorm master and the dorm mother and respect their job.
Article19 Dorm students are not allowed to return to the dorm unless they have a doctoral excuse.  If they feel sick, they must go to the school nurse and get an official leave and hand in the note the first thing you return to the dorm.
Article 20 the dorm students must return to the dorm by 7:30 and the lights must be out by 11:00 pm.
2.  If you are going to return to the dorm after the return time, you must tell the dorm master 2 days in advance and get permission.  Even with the permission, the latest return time is 10:30 pm.
Article 21 Dorm students must tell the dorm masters when and where they are going to when they are going to make a return time extension and fill out a leave form.
Article 22 The school dorm will be closed during spring, summer, and winter vacation.
Article 23 When a dorm student is going to lodge at a different place, they must pill out the lodge out form and fill in when, where, and why, and they must hand in the form 2 days in advance and hand the form into the house mother.
2.  When returning to the dorm, the dorm student must hand in the lodge form which has a signature from the lodging place to inform that you have made the appropriate lodging accounts.
Article 24 Visitors must tell in advance and get the permission of the visit from the house master.  When they visit, they are allowed in the respected area of the dorm and they are not allowed to leave the designated area.  The dorm students parents will be allowed to enter the student's rooms if the acceptance of the dorm mate and the house master is acquired.
Article 25 Dorm students must eat the breakfast and dinner at the school cafeteria.  If they are not going to make it to any of these events, they must tell the house mother 2 days in advance and give a reason.
Article 26 Dorm students must always be in thought of their health and follow all rules and instructions given by either the house mother or the house master.
Article 27 Dorm students must give contact to the house master or the house mother incase of any sickness.
2.  When the dorm student has a sickness or some other reason for not being to attend school, the house mother will give a notice to the information center of the delay or the absence to the school.
Article 28 The front entrance, lounge, hallway, washroom, bathroom, toilet, mini-kitchen, laundry room, etc. any other areas in the dorm must be kept in order and all instructions given by the house mother regarding to these areas must be followed without excuse.
Article 29 The dorm rooms will be rotated periodically.  The room organization will be kept by the house master and the house mother accordingly.

 Chapter 4　　Leave 

Article 30 When a dorm student is requesting a leave from the dorm, they must send in a request form into the school dorm committee.
Article 31 When a student is unhealthy, or any other reason that they are not able to live among others, or any other reason that the school dorm committee decides unsuitable for dorm life, or they have not paid the dorm rent within the month that they are informed to pay will be asked to leave the dorm immediately.

Chapter 5　　Admission / Dorm Expenses 

Article 32 The dorm rent will be assigned and explained the RENT page.

Chapter 6　　Miscellaneous

Article 33 The other rules and regulations that will be argued upon will be determined in a different account.

These rules have been created in 1993 August 1st and will be in effect then.
