Getting
Started
-
A successful portfolio piece begins with
a news article on an appropriate issue.
Here are some articles to help get you
started:
-
Try a Google or Yahoo search in their
NEWS
section
-
Tuesday’s
Daily Yomiuri
has articles in
their Cyberworld section
-
You
can also
search
on-line
newspapers
-
Look through
the library
newspaper and magazine sections for
support
articles
Make sure you can identify a social or
ethical issue in the topic you choose
Social considerations refer to the
economic, political, legal, environmental, historical,
ergonomic, health and psychological impacts of IT on human life.
Social considerations need to be analysed
from both local and global cultural perspectives, recognising
that attitudes and opinions are diverse within and between
different cultures.
Ethical considerations refer to the
responsibility and accountability of those involved in the
design, implementation and use of IT; consider the following
questions:
Are people behaving honestly?
Are they acting responsibly?
Are someone’s rights being violated?
Is some an agreement being violated?
