Digital Image Manipulation

Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 - MAIN PROJECT

For this project you are to create an image using PhotoShop Elements.  

The image must include some of the elements you have learned from the lessons in this unit.

The topic or subject of your image is your choice, but make sure you use at least four (4) elements of the lessons mentioned above.  You may of course add any extra elements you want.

Your grade will be determined by how well you can combine these elements to create a balanced, aesthetically pleasing and meaningful image.   It will be graded using the MYP criteria for Design Technology

Part 1:

For part 1 of this task you are to draw on paper a design or plan of the image you intend to create.  You design should be detailed and indicate what types of effects you intend to use.  Include in this section the first three elements of the Design Cycle and marking criteria (Investigate, Design, and Plan)

You must submit your plan to Mr. Adams before you begin work on the computer

Part 2:

For part 2 of this task you are to create an image using PhotoShop Elements.  

You must use:

• at least two of the elements from the image manipulation lessons and 
• at least one of the elements from the text lessons.

Once you have completed your image save it to your normal student folder and then save another copy to the OIS IDT folder.  Go to the folder and then find the folder with your name and save your image inside this folder.  NOTE: If you are not sure how to do this please ask for help.

Part 3:

For part 3 of this task you are to write a brief report of the work you did to create the image.  Use MS Word for this.

You should mention:

• Which elements from which lessons you used in your image
• Why you decided to use these elements
• Any extra elements you added 
• Any difficulties you had completing this task
• What your opinion is of the finished product
• What might be done to improve your image

When you have finished your report save it into the the OIS IDT folder.
