Grade Eight Information and Design Technology
How to Use
Your Design Folder
As you
progress through the different stages of the design cycle,
you will be trying out new ideas, researching topics,
finding information, sketching possible solutions, making
changes, making decisions and evaluating your work.
The
design folder is a collection of all the work that went into
creating your product. Everything (yes, EVERYTHING) you do
in IDT should be recorded, and dated, then put in the design
folder.
Your
design folder will contain:
-
A
record of your research. E.g. Printouts of websites you
have looked at or used. A list of the URL’s from any
websites you visited that you thought was useful
-
All
the plans and designs that you draw.
-
Photographs and/or screen shots of your product being
developed that show it progressing from the beginning to
the end.
-
Your
evaluation of the final product
Your
design folder must be clearly divided into the main sections
of the design cycle: investigate, design, plan, create,
evaluate.
Your
design folder will begin with your first investigation and
end with your evaluation. |
