Creating a

Brushstroke Mask

in Photoshop Elements 2.0

Using a brushstroke mask can be an interesting effect, it makes the picture look like it has been painted on to a page.
1. Open any picture in Photoshop.

For this example I've started with a picture of a banana skin

2. Now add a new layer on top of the picture. Go to the Edit menu and fill it with a colour at 100% opacity.

3. Choose the eraser tool
Now you have to choose a nice brush type to "paint" your picture

8. Now erase the paint over your picture in long artistic strokes.
